Strong values right from the start

For over a century, the Chomarat Group has been developing by adapting to the most difficult situations, but also by taking advantage of the opportunities that have arisen. This is the fruit of work done over 4 generations involving the founders, family, directors and all the staff, but also the fruit of sharing strong values.

The first of these values is based on loyalty. Chomarat has established long-term ties and partnerships with its customers, major international groups, and with its suppliers. These relationships are based on trust, respect and confidentiality.

Another value which is characteristic of the company is boldness. This is the fruit of abilities in terms of entrepreneurship, diversification, anticipating future developments and seizing opportunities. Boldness which has quite simply, and in all modesty, contributed to its long track record and its position as market leader in a number of its fields.

And as it is impossible to survive 100 years of industrial history without being something of a visionary, the  Chomarat Group cultivates a long-term vision. An intrinsic value inherited from entrepreneurs capable of seeing which way the future is headed. From the heights of the 112 years it has been operating, the Group continues to seek for new horizons.

A key element in Chomarat’s long track record is based on the continuing presence of all the human skills within the Group, accompanied by an ongoing passion, which has been the driving force right from the start.

Teamwork and involvement are an integral part of its staff’s genes and extend to all levels:

• Local: within teams and workshops, regular meetings enable the quick resolution of any issues, dissemination of good practice and circulation of information.
• International: the corporate organization means that know-how and skills are exchanged and complement one another across borders.

Chomarat’s Research and Development relies on the Group’s wealth in terms of tools and know-how in order to create synergies between its various technologies and to develop new innovations.
Its strategy involves working with its customers well upstream and using the diversity of its know-how to provide them with the most effective solution in a timelyfashion. The wide range of expertise that makes up the R&D team enables Chomarat to support customers from the diagnostic phase right through to implementation on their site.

Because long-term vision goes hand in hand with sustainable development, Chomarat has been committed to the environment and sustainability for a long time through concrete actions:

• Setting up an environmental management system
• Being fully committed in everything we do to preventing pollution and disposing of hazardous substances via a systematic detection and risk reduction process.
• Conserving the environment through air and wastewater effluent treatment.
• Promoting a reduction in energy (electricity, gas, fuel) and water consumption.
• Incorporating the concept of environmental impact into our criteria for purchasing materials, parts and products.
• Reducing the amount of waste and improving its recycling.
• Improving our staff’s environmental awareness by training and awareness-raising and by encouraging
• individual and collective environmental initiatives.
• Focusing our development teams towards ecodesign:
  • By putting forward solutions to our customers who are faced with increasing requirements in terms of recyclability by developing textiles based on natural fibers or by promoting the use of TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin) in the automotive industry.
  • By contributing to the boom in renewable energies by anticipating the requirements of wind turbine manufacturers.
  • By developing reinforcement materials which are liable to reduce the weight of concrete or composite structures and therefore enable energy savings and reduction of carbon footprint and CO2 generation.
